Canada’s immigration statesman, Marco Mendicino, stated that French-speaking and bilingual candidates would earn additional points below the Express Entry system. French-speaking candidates will now get 25 extra points for their language abilities, up from 15. Bilingual candidates will instantly get 50 points compared to 30 earlier.
Canada proposes to admit 4.4 per cent of French-speaking immigrants outside of Quebec by 2023. According to a government media announcement, this new initiative will help Canada strike this target once travel constraints ultimately relax.
